If you spent September preparing your children for school and did not actually have time to focus on yourself, I have got you! October is the month to turn back to yourself and your own goals.
Here are some suggestions that can bring you joy and comfort, and help you start the last quarter of the year feeling your best.
DECLUTTER
Clutter attracts dust and dirt and even can impact the quality of the air in the room. Getting rid of the things you don’t need and use anymore is an amazing stress relief method. Nothing makes me feel free and calm like a huge declutter in whichever segment of my life. My number one on the declutter list for this month is Wardrobe Declutter. Seeing fresh and good organised clothes every time I open the wardrobe immediately improves my mood. So consider doing a big declutter in your home or office this month. It is really one of the biggest goals for me.
MORNING WORKOUT
The cooler temperature and less light make us unmotivated to work out, that is for sure. So, the number one tip that will help you stay consistent with your workout schedule is to do your workout in the morning. When you are fresh and the day is bright you have more energy to move your body. Set yourself a goal to improve your body-mind connection. As you start feeling that you really learned to control your body and muscles in everyday life, it will be a motivation itself that will help you keep going.
TEA TIME
Having at least one cup of tea daily not only can benefit your health but help you create a routine around that. For example, I love to have a cup of tea in the morning, after pilates, while I do journaling and task list for the day. Nothing can ruin my day if I have started it in that particular way. I usually have green tea with jasmine or any tea that can help me heal something (if I have any medical issues at that time). There is a perfect tea for everyone, so find the one that will help you feel excited and looking forward to your teatime.
COMFORT FOOD
Comfort food is there to fix or at least make less important a bad day at work, missing someone, or just feeling under the weather. Comfort foods can be something you really enjoy eating now or even something you enjoyed as a kid. It can remind you of some carefree childhood moments and bring some nice memories. This month eat everything that makes you feel cozy, but stay in a healthy mode and be sure to control the amounts.
GRATITUDE JOURNAL
One of the best ways to take care of your mental health is gratitude journaling. When you focus on what you already have and like in your life you care less about everything that is missing. Making a list of things you are thankful for becomes your daily practice you can help you lower stress, sleep better, and even reduce the risk of some serious diseases (like heart disease). Put your diary next to your bed to remind you to write everything you are grateful for in your life every morning or before sleep. Start this practice in October and its benefits might really surprise you.
Have an amazing month my loves and enjoy your new monthly schedule!
