Ingredients:
Olive oil
Onion, 1 chopped
Carrots, 2 diced
Celery, 2 chopped stalks
Garlic, 2 minced cloves
Basil, 1 tablespoon
Lentils, 2 cups
Water, 8 cups
Tomato sauce, 1 can
Salt
Pepper
Method:
Heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add onions, carrots and celery. Cook and stir 5 minutes.
Add garlic and basil, cook for another 3 minutes.
Add lentils, water and tomato sauce, bring to boil and simmer on low heat for about 1 hour.
Season with salt and pepper.
